The best of summer fun is happening right here in Central Ohio! We have terrific Independence Day celebrations, plus music festivals, fairs and more! Here’s a sampling of popular events happening in July!
July 3 – Red, White and BOOM! This City of Columbus day-long celebration features delicious food, craft beers, live music, a children’s play area and a downtown parade. Street closings begin at 11 a.m., with events starting at noon. Parade steps off the Main Street Bridge at 6 p.m. Fireworks at 10 p.m.
July 4th – Worthington Family Picnic & Fireworks: Enjoy an old-fashioned Fourth on the lawn of Thomas Worthington High School. The celebration includes food, live music, games and much more! Event begins at 4:00 p.m. with fireworks at 10:00 p.m.
July 4th – City of Dublin Independence Day Celebration: 70’s rock legend Peter Frampton headlines the City of Dublin’s Independence Day Celebration. The fun begins with a parade at 11:00 a.m., live music begins at 4:30 p.m. All guests four and older will need a stadium wristband to enter. Please see the Admission Policy on the City of Dublin website.
July 4th – Upper Arlington Fourth of July Celebration: This all-day, family-friendly event begins with a parade at 9:00 a.m. “Party in the Park” follows at 5:00 p.m., and an impressive fireworks display begins at 10:00 p.m.
July 7-9 – Ohio Wine Festival at North Market: The Ohio Wine Festival brings Ohio’s finest wineries together at North Market. Various ticket levels, starting at $25 in advance, $30 at the door. All admissions include a $5 North Market Food Voucher, 10 wine tasting tickets, and a souvenir wine glass, while supplies last. ID required. Wine tasters must be 21 and older.
July 15-22 – Franklin County Fair: Located in Hilliard, this traditional Ohio county fair brings you classic family fun. Enjoy exhibits, farm animals, carnival rides and games, plus special grandstand entertainment.
July 21 – A Taste of Worthington: This outdoor food festival has a block-party atmosphere while being family-friendly. Sample wares from local restaurants, caterers, bakeries and others in the food industry. Play area with activities for the kids. 5:30 p.m. – 10 p.m.
July 21-23 – Columbus Jazz and Ribs Fest: Experience 3 stages of live music, featuring local, regional and international jazz artists. Savor the best bbq ribs, chicken and more from around the country. Free admission, buy your food and drink as you wish. Located at the downtown Columbus riverfront along the Scioto Mile in Bicentennial, Genoa and West Bank Parks.
July 26-Aug 6 – Ohio State Fair: Too big to miss! Explore Ohio agricultural exhibits, an 8-acre natural resources park, plus a lineup of national acts, a large midway, around-the-clock entertainment and delicious food. For details, tickets and directions, visit www.ohiostatefair.com.
July 29 – Whitehall Food Truck and Fun Festival: Country music star Chase Bryant headlines the main stage entertainment at 8:30 p.m. Live music all day on two stages. Enjoy food from 25 different food vendors, along with a large arts and crafts marketplace and a kid’s area.
