Central Ohio Events

Summer may be over, but the fun never ends in Central Ohio! Get into the spirit of fall with this list of upcoming fall festivals and indoor exhibits. These are a great way to spend your time this September!

Sept. 9: The Monarch Art Project: From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Franklin Park Conservatory, create collaborative art with the colors and patterns of Monarch butterflies! This is free with admission, and great for families. You can also enjoy butterfly releases at 1 and 3 p.m. daily.

Sept. 8-9: Lithopolis Honeyfest: If you love honey, you’ll love this event! Watch honey being extracted from the comb, observe hive inspection, see a queen and her colony behind glass and more, all while sampling honey in a variety of colors, flavors and textures.

Sept. 16-17: 43rd Annual Short North Tour of Homes & Gardens: Tour the most unique homes in Columbus! On Sept. 16, attend the pre-tour party at the ‘Circus House’ from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Sunday is the general tour from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. From penthouses to treehouses, you’ll see a bit of everything!

Sept. 16-17: Grove City Arts in the Alley: This free event takes place at Grove City Town Center and features more than 100 juried exhibitors. Browse and shop among art, photography, jewelry, crafts, glasswork, pottery and more. Enjoy live entertainment as well!

Sept. 16-23: Delaware County Fair: There is something for everyone at the Delaware County Fair! Enjoy carnival rides, a petting zoo, a slew of live entertainment, exhibits, competitions, amazing food and more. The All Horse Parade takes place on Sept. 10 in downtown Delaware.

Sept. 22-24: Columbus Oktoberfest: This takes place at Ohio Expo Center. Soak in German music, dancing, food, beer and snacks while shopping among vendors. Bring kids to Kinderplatz, where they can enjoy a variety of kid-friendly activities. It is all held in open-air pavilions, so you can enjoy in any weather!

Sept. 30: Applefest at Lawrence Orchards: Apple season runs throughout the fall season, but on Sept. 30, Lawrence Orchards holds an old-fashioned festival with crafts, a hay maze, horse-drawn wagon rides, pony rides, bluegrass music and plenty of apples.
