‘Tis the season for holiday fun in Metro Columbus! Take some time to enjoy the special events and attractions happening around Central Ohio. We’ve put together a list of family favorites!

Old Pickerington Village Holiday

December 1. Tree lighting at 5 p.m. at Columbus & Center Street. Indoor gift market with over 40 vendors. Wagon rides, ice carving, carolers, live reindeer, Santa, and games for the kids. Free hot chocolate and popcorn. Downtown shops, restaurants and Historical Society Museum will be open.

Upper Arlington Winter Festival

December 1. Tree lighting at 6 p.m. at Mallway Park. Carriage rides, strolling carolers, Santa and live reindeer, plus a community bonfire with s’mores. Specials and door prizes by Mallway merchants.

Westerville Tree Lighting

December 1. Tree lighting ceremony at 7 p.m. Located at the new Civic Green area of Westerville City Hall. Live holiday music, candle lighting ceremony and a visit from Santa.

Grove City Christmas Celebration & Mistletoe Market

December 2. A full day of holiday events in the historic Grove City Town Center, starting at 10 a.m. Shop the Mistletoe Market within the City Hall and Town Center businesses. Santa will be at George Edge Music Park on Broadway starting at 2 p.m. Live entertainment in the evening starting at 6 p.m. Christmas parade steps off at 7 p.m. Tree lighting ceremony follows parade.

Holidays in Powell

December 2. Family fun starting at 2 p.m. at the Municipal Building Council Chambers & East Room. Free admission! Crafts, storytelling, carolers, photos with Santa, and a special animal visitor from the Columbus Zoo. Tree lighting ceremony at 6 p.m.

Village Lights – German Village

December 3. Beginning at 5 p.m., historic German Village will be aglow with luminaries and holiday lights. Enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride and live holiday music. Shops and restaurants will be open late with special offers and promotions. Free parking at north and south sides of the neighborhood, with free shuttles to even area.

Hilliard Holiday Hop & City Tree Lighting

December 3. From 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., the Historical Village will be open and docents will be on hand to share a view of Christmas in the past. Visit with Santa in the old schoolhouse, and enjoy carolers and free hot chocolate. Trolley will run between the Village and downtown Hilliard, where merchants will offer shopping specials.

Dickens of a Christmas – Ohio Village, Columbus

December 8-10 and 15-17. Travel back in time for the splendor of a Victorian-era Christmas at the historic Ohio Village. Enjoy 19th-century decorations, crafts, cooking decorations and fashions inspired by Charles Dickens. This is an indoor/outdoor tour, dress for the weather! Columbus Commons Holiday Lights

Through January 1. See over 320,000 holiday lights, and explore vintage storefront displays in the Lazarus Building.  Lights on from dusk to 11 p.m.

Wildlights at Columbus Zoo

Through January 1. Over 3 million LED lights! See live reindeer, Santa, and more. 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Admission cost varies, see Columbus Zoo website for details. Closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

First Night Columbus

December 31. A spectacular New Year’s Eve celebration in downtown Columbus with fireworks, live entertainment and fun for all ages! The fireworks will be set off from Genoa Park this year, with prime viewing from Washington Blvd. See website for full details and admission fees.
