After all, this is the largest financial transaction most people will conduct during their lifetime. It is normal to experience emotional ups and downs, especially in a competitive market.

Another example is the home appraisal. You cannot predict if the home appraisal will come in for a lower value than the sales price. If this happens, it can mean another round of negotiations with the seller. If a solution cannot be found with the seller, you could end up paying cash at closing to cover the appraisal’s shortfall. Or, with the proper contingencies in place, you might cancel the deal and walk away.

Its disappointing when things don’t go as expected. But because every home and every local real estate market is unique, every transaction is unique! You will need to be patient, and perhaps a bit flexible, as the process moves along. Home buying is never as quick or easy as it looks on TV.
