In our prior blog post, we talked about the value of including a personal letter with your home buying offer. Today, we’re sharing an example of a Columbus home buyer’s letter from recent Buyer-Clients of ours! This letter helped them win the deal, even though they were up against two other competing offers. We have edited the letter for length, and to preserve the privacy of the buyers and sellers:
Dear Mr. & Mrs. Home Seller,
My wife Betsy and I have fallen in love with your beautiful home. We have dreamed about a house just like yours since we first married six years ago. Betsy has shown me the most wonderful pictures, as I am currently on deployment overseas with the US Army.
Betsy and I met eleven years ago while I was home for R&R. We fell in love immediately. Since our marriage, we have lived in several locations around the U.S. and the world. During all of our travels, we always dreamed of finding a home like yours that we could call our own.
We are relocating to Columbus at the beginning of next month, because I have been offered a military instructor position. I shall remain with the University until I retire from the military. We are sincerely interested in purchasing your home and making it our “forever” home.
We both love cooking and your large kitchen captured our hearts immediately. The care you have also put into the yard will remain in expert hands, as we love to spend time outside. The yard is ideal for playing bocce ball, or a fun game of corn-hole, or even some backgammon under the shade of the beautiful pergola. The outdoor light is perfect for a nice little garden or even growing hops, as I am an avid home brewer.
The home shows the love and care you have put into it from top to bottom. You have a place that your family must have been very happy to live in, and we would like it to remain in loving attention. We would cherish your home, and do everything to ensure your hard work has not gone to waste.
Betsy and I are very excited to relocate to the Columbus area, as we are very community-minded. We are both very passionate about the community we live and work in, and are committed to making a positive impact any way we can. We both work extensively with homeless outreach programs in our current area and find genuine pleasure in helping others.
The happiness your family has experienced in your home will be in good hands, as we will treasure the memories we will make there ourselves. We would be very appreciative if you would consider our offer to purchase your home. We sincerely hope to make it our final destination in the Army life we enjoy together.
