Personal Profile
- Andrew has a double major, marketing and finance, business degree from The Ohio State University with a minor in Aviation where he earned his Private, Commercial, Instrument, and Flight Instructor ratings. Graduated in three years instead of four.
- Prior to his real estate career he was involved in senior level association management for a 186,000 member organization.
- He has been a part time real estate investor since 1983, and was recruited in February 1992 by an Exclusive Buyer Brokerage in the Metro Columbus area to begin his career.
Community Activities Include:
- Served as a senior peer counselor, volunteer trainer, speaker, and Board Member (two year term) at a multi-office crisis pregnancy center for over 10 years.
- Co-Chairman of The Rocky Fork – Blacklick Accord, a 9 member oversight panel governing land usage and development over 11,400 acres over the next 25 years in the northeast Metro Columbus / New Albany area. Has served since 1995, appointed twice by Republican Mayor Lashutka and four times by Democrat Mayor Coleman. Has testified before Columbus Development Commission, New Albany Planning Commission, New Albany Village Council and the Columbus City Council. Appears often in newspapers locally, radio and occasionally on cable TV.
- Served as chair of the Smart Growth Coalition which recently concluded a year-long study and constituent report. Formed in 2007 through the cooperative efforts of the Village of New Albany, Plain Township, and the New Albany-Plain Local School District for the purpose of making recommendations to these entities on growth management concerns, initiatives and strategies in areas of common interest. Appointed by the New Albany School District.
Professional Experience:
- In addition to CEBA, CEBA-M, CSP, ABR, ABRM, e-PRO, and now the GREEN designation Andrew has completed all classroom courses for licensed Ohio appraisers.
- Featured speaker at NAEBA buyer agent national conventions in Pittsburgh, Fort Worth, San Francisco and Orlando on technology, E-Applications and Buyer Conference Presentations.
- One of the Founding Members of the Columbus Independent Brokers Association. Technology presenter at IBA meetings.
Columbus Board of Realtors Activities:
- Andrew has appeared at Board sponsored public seminars, appeared on local TV and radio programs, and in print articles for “In Contract” magazine.
- Served as Chair (1996) of the RS Membership Committee.
- Served a 3-year appointment to the Grievance Committee, ending in 1998.
- Is currently serving on the Professional Standards Committee, appointed in 1999, served as Chair (2005).
- Has served on the Builder-Realtor Alliance Committee, Residential Membership Committee, Communications Committee, and the Standard Forms Committee (served as Chair in 2009).
- Suggested and helped initiate a new investor seminar for the Board in 1995, including speaking at the first ever Investment Seminar in 1995.
- Was the only EBA invited to participate out of 12 Realtors selected by OAR statewide to participate in a live statewide satellite broadcast regarding changes in Agency law for Ohio in 1996 with Julie Garton-Good.
- Has testified before the Ohio House of Representatives on Agency issues and was the only EBA to testify on Designated Agency issues in the Ohio Senate in 1996.
Real Estate Buyers Agent Council:
- Member #2190 received the ABR (Accredited Buyer Representative) designation and the ABRM (Accredited Buyer Representative Manager) designation from REBAC.
National Association of Exclusive Buyer Agents:
- Served on the Constitution and by-laws Committee
- Appointed to Chair the Media Relations Committee in July 1997, resulting in a TV and print ad campaign to increase consumer awareness of buyer agents.
- Appointed to the Board of Directors in 1998 representing the Eastern Region, and elected to subsequent terms until his election as President-Elect in November 2002. Served as President of NAEBA from November, 2003 (San Francisco Convention) until November 2004 (Orlando Convention).
